LPD8 is the new MIDI pad controller USB AKAI Professional designed for musicians, producers, DJs and fans of computer music in General. Lightweight (about 4 pounds) and a width of just over 30 cm is a product extremely comfortable, practical and easily transportable bag of your notebook. LPD8 takes cue from MPC series, to provide professionals and enthusiasts a tool usable in any situation, in hotels, on a journey, or as a further extension in a physical set-up for your computer-based live performances. LPD8 is equipped with 8 pads with dynamic edge photosensitive luminous (orange), which send MIDI note messages for scheduling, recording and playback of rhythmic and melodic parts into your favorite sequencer. If necessary, the eight pads can also be configured to send messages to MIDI Program-Change. Strength of the LPD8 is the presence of 8 rotary potentiometers to send control messages (Control Change) helpful to check with hand any controllable parameter from your favorite software. LPD8 connects to the USB ports of your computer (PC or Mac), which will also get useful power operation, all without having to install any drivers. 4 are the memories/benches to program and invoke the appropriate settings for use with different software. You can use the LPD8 controller for your favorite MIDI sequencer to control Virtual Instruments, as controller for Ableton Live and/or as an extension to control effects, samplers, loop etc. of your favourite DJ software that support MIDI controller (Traktor, Serato, Virtual DJ, etc.).
